Neat Idea for your Email Signature

I recently received an email from a colleague that I thought had an interesting component in her signature, and which I had not seen before.

There was the usual Disclaimer Notice that email recipients so often receive with words such as “This email contains information that is confidential…”.

This colleague’s email had the following line in green:

[Please consider the environment before printing]

We all print out many of our emails or web pages to read later without much thought. Maybe a one line sentence like this attached to incoming emails might give us pause before hitting the Print button so readily.

Ever locked your keys in your car?

If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone on your mobile phone.

Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the other person at your home press the unlock button of your key fob (clicker), holding it near the phone on their end. Your car doors will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object – you could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other “remote” for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the boot!).

I’ve tried it on my car and it really works.
