Free Family Tree Application
I came across this simple-to-use Family Tree Maker in the latest issue of Windows Vista Magazine called Family.Show using Microsoft Silverlight Technology.
It does not have the bells and whistles of more complex genealogy software (typically quite pricey), but it has a nice interface and respresents your family tree in a nice visual way. It allows you to enter data such as name, dates and places of birth, relationships such as spouse, children, brothers and sisters etc. Click on any person you have added and it will visually represent their particular branch of your family tree. You can also export your family tree(s) to GEDCOM.
It is a small download from http://www.vertigo.com/familyshow.aspx. On the right-hand side of the page select ‘Install Family.Show via ClickOnce’. Vertigo also has two other interesting applications that are also worth a look at. These are Slide.Show and Video.Show, also using Microsoft Silverlight Technology.
